Saudi crown prince MBS 2030 vision is ill conceived vanity project which will have no significant impact on economic growth. vision 2030 is a scheme conceived by the western consultants to rip off the country wealth.

MBS should give priority to human capital development to untangle itself from the over reliance on outside consultants who continue to ripoff the country.

MBS should follow the Chinese model where joint ventures must include technology transfer and training for eventual self sufficiency.

Saudi should be a Mecca for innovation and a magnet for the brightest minds from the Muslim world. This could be accomplished by granting full citizenship to these immigrants and having a robust society where people from different backgrounds will choose to immigrate to Saudi Arabia due to its immense opportunities for a better life.

There is no reason it can’t compete for the best and brightest. It requires a radical shift in strategy and direction. It needs to believe that Saudi can play a major role spreading mutual peace , stability and prosperity by being a leader and being a peacemaker in the region. Shared prosperity is possible, but it needs a radical change in its foreign policies and economic model . It needs to be a German for the Middle East. I think it can.
